Don’t cut Corners – Making smart Decisions to help combat Covad-19
During these uncertain times, while there are industries suffering, there are others that are needing all hands on deck – and beyond that. They are actively hiring in an attempt to hastily fill all the holes.
In some industries, they are paying their employees more to account for this added risk of an invisible enemy.
They recognize that people are potentially putting their lives, and their families lives at risk just by setting foot out their front door.
What used to be a simple shift at a grocery store has turned into a front line battle.
Doctors and Nurses who are used to saving the lives of others, are doing so again but at a much MUCH greater risk to themselves.
Routines for these essential workers have become a job in themselves. Its not just get up and go, and finish and rush home.
Its ensuring you are well protected before you start your job. And ensuring you are thoroughly disinfected when you complete.
The measures that need to be put in place just to ensure yourself and your loved ones and those around you, are exposed to as little as possible more than warrant the raises that have been put in place to show appreciation to these front line workers.
In some aspects of security, things are no different.
As the threat increases and more safety measures are rolled out – security is stepping up to help assist Police and the Government by being the places where they can’t be.
We’re assisting our clients by screening people and ensure that protocols are being met.
While some agencies are actively hiring to fill these positions as they are added, or to cover for those who have fallen ill, or have stepped back for the sake of their family, there can be gaps in the standards that were once being met.
At the front line you still need strong, qualified individuals. People that are trained to ensure response is done adequately, professionally, and compassionately. Standards still need to be met and even exceeded in these times.
While the easy option may be to open the flood gates to anyone and everyone that applies and pay the bare minimum to ‘get the job done’, you’re still leaving too much room for risk.
You’re risking your staff, their families, and your companies reputation.
You’re risking the general public, and those that you are there to protect.
By ensuring that your team is all qualified, trained, and prepared for the crisis at hand – you’re helping to keep the risk down. You’re ensuring that your team, and those around you are kept as safe as possible.
Beyond safety, to ensuring that people are comfortable and at ease with the measures and methods in place to maintain their health and well being.
When it comes to the safety, security, health and well being of our public and the world at risk right now, there is no price too great to ensure we get everyone through this as safely and as quickly as possible.
Lives are literally at stake these days and while we all need to step up and do our part, whether it be to stay at home, or actively work on the front lines, we need to recognize that not everyone is right for every job.
Training, knowledge, and understanding all need to be actively in place to ensure that those on the front lines are making the best and most informed decisions.
So while we’re trying to cut corners on the spread of the virus and hastily reduce the enormous impact that it has already made, lets not cut costs where it matters – our people, our front lines, and those risking it all in an effort to get us one step closer to the end of the battle.
