Stepping Out and Stepping In – Security in a Pandemic
Times may be changing.
Some days actually, time seems to stand still.
The longer we’re in this Pandemic, the slower time seems to go some days.
When you’re staring at the same walls day in and day out, time seems almost relative.
If you’re a first responder however or working the front lines – things may seem quite the opposite.
Every day waking up to face the unknown out ‘there’.
For the most part, anyone working during these times is helping.
Helping in hospitals, care homes, or on the streets.
Helping in grocery stores, banks, and essential businesses.
Helping make sure you have a good meal and food to eat.
Helping to make sure you’re healthy or get healthy.
Its a different and challenging time – but we’re making it through.
For our security family, times are exceptionally different.
We’ve been raised in the Entertainment Security industry. We’ve seen red carpets, VIP’s, Celebrities, high end Bars, Restaurants, Venues.
We’ve been to high profile events, charity events, weddings, private events.
And everything in between.
Our previous portfolio was vast when it came to security in the Entertainment industry.
When events, and entertainment as we knew it took a huge hit by Covid-19 – it quite literally rocked our world.
Much like most people, we were forced to stop. Take a deep breath. And reevaluate our surroundings.
If you like to look for the silver lining in things, it was like we were being handed an opportunity.
An opportunity to reflect on who we are and who we were as a company and as a family. And then to further reflect on our goals and where we saw ourselves headed.
Our current plans for the summer and for the future were obviously all of a sudden placed in the back seat.
All of the planning, work, forecasting – all put on hold.
We ourselves could either put our future entirely on hold, or step out and step up to see where our help was needed.
So here we are. A new Sentinel, rising from, well – not the ashes. Our old Sentinel is still here. A heart that still beats with dreams that still exists. But we are rising to the challenge.
The Coronavirus challenge. Where those that are able, help out by any means and all means necessary.
For some its as simple as Netflix and chill, for others its long hours and being at the very front lines.
For some its a matter of sewing masks, and gowns. Or being innovative and coming up with new ways to help the medical industry in their time of need.
For us, its stepping out and heading to grocery stores and banks.
Hardware stores and other essential businesses.
Our priority is still the public. Ensuring social distancing is being maintained and providing a safe surrounding. And now its not just a matter of the threats we can see, its protecting the public from the things we can’t see as well.
Having an invisible enemy is hard. Its challenging and its scary.
But taking a back seat while the world goes on with a clear need for help right now is even scarier.
We are happy and proud that we are able to once again team up, suit up, step out and step in.
We are a family of helpers.
We care about those around us and the world we live in.
We all want the world we live in to be a safe place. We want peace and we want health.
For now we will do what we can to get to brighter days as soon as we possibly can.
We will all do our part to do what we can and together, we will once again walk safely and freely outside with each other.
We’ll hold hands.
We will remove the ‘distant’ from being social and rise above.
