A breeding ground of training, knowledge, and expertise led by our resident in-house close protection director Joe Balz.
Joe brings a wealth of experience and knowledge over his decades spent leading security teams around the globe. Having worked with all levels of clientele from celebrities to the Royal Family, his skills and mindset are all encompassing when it comes down to first class protective services. He has been part of the Sentinel family for the better part of a decade and continues to help us not just build our client base, but also build our teams that work in this field.
He leads our close protection workshops and invites not just our own team, but outsiders as well to gain in the foundational knowledge that has helped build and maintain our successful close protection division.
After many years of ups and downs and an ever changing landscape, we were truly able to see who stood out from the crowd. A group of individuals that made Sentinel their family and a priority. Giving and showing their utmost best in terms of quality, professionalism, skills, expertise, and commitment.

Regular training sessions offering both in class and hands on training. Truly ensuring that we can practice what we preach and maintaining the skills and service levels our client based is built on.
While we do occasionally open up the fundamental basics of this course and other varying levels to our entire team as well as anyone willing and wanting to learn more – only a mere few often get the chance to grow into this role.
Our Close Protection team is hand picked from our staff based on watching work ethic, skills, willingness to commit, as well as those showing the ability and desire to not only increase their skillset but also elevate their careers.
