An Update for Civilization- A Show of Support

In the past week, we’ve seen a huge response grow even larger in regards to the life and death of George Floyd.

What started as a muted cry for help has turned into public outrage.

Protests have been gripping the nation with the vast majority done with the utmost respect and kindness for humankind. No violence, only open arms, acceptance and a will to teach others of the unjust reality that many are still faced with in their day to day lives.

At Sentinel, we embrace and empower these movements. We want to reiterate what our company values stand for.

Its important that Sentinel as a family and as a business take a stand against racism of any kind.

We value humankind and embrace the differences that everyone embodies and brings to the table. Differences that make us stand out from each other and help bring a variety of thoughts, beliefs, and opinions to the table.

We have seen a rise in  the Black Lives Matter movement.

At the end of the day the best way to shed some light on this topic is that  if one house is on fire, you would work together to put out that fire and make sure the family inside was safe.

You’d get together to help the family out, get back on their feet, and maintain their dignity and respect in a traumatic time for them.

You’d support them, comfort them, and keep them safe.

And above all – you’d make sure the fire was put out.

At this time – One specific race is continuously facing fires.

The second one is barely put out, another one seems to be lit.

Its a vicious circle and its time to put an end to the injustice.

We need to stand together as neighbours, families, and friends and put an end to racism and an end to police violence.

Having a position of authority does not make you the governor of someones life.

It does not give you the right to decide if someones life is worth less than yours and thus less worthy of life itself.

Sentinel supports the Black Lives Matter movement to end these injustices.

We are committed to making changes within our team and core values that promote equality, justice, and fair treatment for all individuals, especially our neighbours that are facing racial injustice time and time again.

We will actively stand up to support our family, and yours, during uncertain times, and during times when support and love and understanding are needed.

We communicate with each other on best courses of action, educational insights, and charities to support.

We march hand in hand to show love and support humanity.

We believe our position of authority as security does not give us the right to abuse others or act outside the law.

We will not act as entitled individuals.

We will continue to educate, support, and share the voices of those that need to be heard.

While these may be uncertain times we are currently living in, one thing is for certain and thats that those that need support should always have it – and the Sentinel family is here to support you and stand with you.
