The Makings of a Sentinel – Rising Above

What does it take to truly go above and beyond?

What are the key things that can set you up to rise above?

What are the basic ingredients to success in an ever growing, ever changing industry?

Firstly – as we have all learned over the past year, the ability to be flexible and the power to adapt.

As this world continues to evolve and the circumstances surrounding the Pandemic seem to be ever changing with rules that keep growing – as business owners, as companies, and as people, we find ourselves evolving and changing as well.

We find ourselves blending with the ebb and flow that the tides bring.

We’ve gone from a society that thrived on social interaction, impulse outings and last minute plans – to a society that stays home, has no plans, and tries to do everything by either delivery or curb side pick up.

As business owners we’re finding ways to adapt like never before.

Small businesses are struggling and fighting what feels like an up hill battle.

We’ve adapted our business models to focus on business strategies that are as contactless as possible.

At one time we were depending on a constant stream of foot traffic to keep our revenue stream. Now our time is spent delivery things to peoples cars and peoples doorsteps just to try to remain afloat.

Almost by force, we’ve turned into flexible adaptors just as a means to remain fiscally alive.

In our industry, where we once thrived on events and essentially anywhere where the people were, we’ve adapted our business to model and have redirected our focus to where we were needed most – the health care industry.

The next ingredient to success, is integrity and determination.

Even on the brink of failure, maintaining ones integrity can seem like a daunting task.

But regardless of whether you win or lose, being able to do so gracefully is a skill not lost on most.

By always upholding your values and staying true to your beliefs, you can keep your integrity in tact.

In business, staying true to your very core is what will keep you set apart from the others.

Staying determined is what will keep you moving in a forward momentum.

Keeping your focus on the task at hand and striving for completion is integral in business and in life. Setting goals and upholding the determination to see them to completion is a key factor in not just business – but life.

In the world we live in now, being determined could feel like one of the last things on our mental to do list. But being determined could be as simple as being determined to get through this pandemic and make it to the other side.

All of our goals – all of our hopes and dreams – differ in context and in strength.

Some days we are stronger than others and sometimes our goals are bigger than others.

Regardless – having a goal, and having determination are important in life.

Motivation – another success indicator, is also a key factor in business and in life.

Again, with the world being in a darker place – motivation these days is something that we can all sometimes be lacking.

Having the strength to carry on, despite any circumstance, is sometimes not for the faint of heart.

Digging deep to find that last ounce of motivation, that last once of courage – could be the difference between you and the person next to you.

Then there is Perseverance and the art of never giving up.

Never losing your focus, never losing sight of the things that you hold near and dear and that really matter.

When this pandemic started – our goal became quite clear.

We were focused on making it through – despite all the odds.

The world seemed to be turning against us and against everything we knew – but we persevered.

Digging our heals in, narrowing our focus and seeing our visions through – no matter what obstacles were thrown in our way.

All of these fundamental basics are things that we apply and instil in all of our work, all of our goals, and every single team member.

Remaining steadfast and resilient and true to our core. Never losing sight of our goals.

These are the things that set us apart.

These are the things that keep us reaching above and beyond – goal after goal.

And these are the things that unify our team.

Like minded individuals that display the very core of what we believe in.

Never backing down, never giving up, never quitting, no matter what life hands us.
