How to be a Sentinel – Join Our Team

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to join an elite family and work some of Toronto’s most prestigious events and venues?

Have you been following our Instagram, or seen us in action and thought – I want to be a part of that?

Sentinel has been working hard these past few years to carve our space in the security industry. Our goal is to be at the forefront of people’s minds when they think of who they want to cover their security needs.

We’ve been a part of events both large and small that have helped build our team, and build our presence. We’re well liked and we boast an impressive resume

All of this would be nothing if not for the people – the bricks and mortar – in our team. And the Sentinel family is looking at expanding.

This is where you come in.

Now first, you may be curious if you fit the Sentinel profile.

Lets break it down.

Dedication and Commitment . We need dedicated individuals that are willing to put in the time and effort. Much like any other job or industry, we experience our rushes in waves. We need you there for the slow and the small, and the fast and the large. We have some key events that happen yearly and by being a Sentinel, you’re dedicating your service especially for these key periods.

Being in a family is like being in a relationship. Commitment and Dedication go hand in hand with that.

Experience. Obviously experience is a plus in most jobs. While understandably, everyone needs to start somewhere and we aren’t all born with the power of experience, having the knowledge and a sturdy background will really boost your opportunities in any industry.

Skills. The security industry, and being a Sentinel especially – involves a range of skills. We love to see people that take an interest in their fitness abilities and well being. Physical presence is certainly not everything, but the ability to carry out physical tasks, as seemingly menial even as being on your feet for long periods of time is integral. In the past, we’ve taken the Sentinel family to the gym for some hard core physical training. While we’re not all built equally, having the motivation to better yourself is certainly a plus.

Apart from the physical aspects of the job, there are administrative sides to the job as well. Those security reports don’t write themselves! These reports are an important and useful follow up tool for both ourselves, and our clients. Having a good understanding of the important details that need to be noted during details will help make this task easier. And having the ability to put thoughts and pen to paper (or in this day and age, inputting it in the computer) is another useful skill.

Motivation. Sentinel’s didn’t work their way up from going to work and doing the bare minimum. We go above and beyond for the suit. Our clients now expect a certain level of experience and expertise from us. Our team is motivated to consistently work hard and even harder to ensure expectations are met. We are motivated in all aspects of our work and our clientele shows.

These are just a few aspects of the keys to being a Sentinel.

We are currently welcoming like minded individuals to join our family.

If you think that you possess any of the above, (and you have a valid Security licence and First aid) and are ready to take a leap, prove yourself, and grow with the best of us – we welcome you to apply.

Take a look at the careers section of our website here for more information and to apply.
